Water Pump Repair & Installation Services

for Sanford, Biddeford, Ogunquit, Gray, Waterboro, ME & the Surrounding Areas

IF YOU LIVE IN A RURAL AREA, HAVING A FUNCTIONING WELL WATER PUMP IS ESSENTIAL. WITHOUT CITY WATER TO TAP INTO, YOUR PROPERTY HAS TO PROVIDE FOR ITS OWN WATER NEEDS.

That means digging a well and installing a well pump.

Well pumps come in two main types: jet and submersible. While the physics and mechanics involved in their workings are different, their ultimate function is identical. Both types of well water pumps are designed to draw water up from the well and feed it into the pipes of the home or commercial property. After it’s filtered and purified, that water can then be used for cooking, cleaning, bathing, laundry, and more.

Here at Marquis Well & Pump, we understand well pumps inside and out. Whether you have a shallow well and can make do with pressure pumps or you have a deeper well and need submersible pumps, our team can handle well pump repairs, installations, and replacements. In addition to installing a new water pump, we can install the necessary water filtration system to keep your water clean, fresh, and safe.

Well Pump Repairs Versus Replacements

Our team will do their best to minimize the cost when it comes to well pump repair and replacement costs. There are certain scenarios when it makes more sense to do a pump replacement rather than pump repairs. The general rule to follow is if your pump repair costs add up to more than half the price of a new pump, then you should get a new pump. However, other things to consider are the age of your pump and how often your pump is running. A well pump can typically last 15 to 25 years, so you’ll want to see how long your current pump has been being used to determine if pump repairs or a pump replacement is the way to go.

Constant Pressure Pumps

A CONSTANT PRESSURE PUMP PROVIDES EVEN, CONSISTENT WATER PRESSURE THROUGHOUT YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS.

This eliminates water usage fluctuations within your home while you're using water. With a constant pressure pump, you can wash a load of clothing in the washing machine, clean dishes in the dishwasher, run the sprinkler system, or take a shower all at the same time. You will not have to worry about inefficient water supply or weak pressure.

Pressure pumps work by changing their motor speed to maintain a constant pressure as flow demand changes. This allows you to maintain steady water pressure to meet high volume needs, reduce the stress on your water pump, and lower your energy bills. Pressure pumps take up less space than conventional pumps and leave plenty of room for expansion in the future, should you choose. Jet Pumps

JET WATER PUMPS GET THEIR NAME BECAUSE THEY OPERATE MUCH IN THE SAME WAY JET ENGINES DO.

They are installed above the ground, as they cannot be placed in water. Water is drawn from the well through the pump using a suction pipe, which converts it into potable water for household use, such as a sprinkler system.

There are two types of jet pumps: shallow well and deep well. Like their names sound, a shallow well pump can get water from a depth of about 25 feet, and the deep well pump can get water from a depth of about 200 feet. If you have more water to move over a longer distance, a deep well pump is probably your best option.

Never, ever let your jet pump run dry, as doing so can cause permanent damage.
